On my HP Mini 1010nr (with Broadcom 4312), I see something a little different. I can install and configure the Broadcom support via Hardware Drivers while running on the Live CD. When I install, the Broadcom support is gone (no dkms, no bcmwl-kernel-source). I have to use Synaptic to install from the CD to get things to work again.
