To be honest, I hadn't checked before. I think today may have been the first time that I tried to suspend my laptop following the GSM disconnect, rather than a shutdown. As I said, a suspend at any other time works fine. I can check again tomorrow - the problem is that I can only recreate this when I lose GSM connectivity which is hard to replicate apart from when I'm travelling.
