No, what Mozilla wants is a stack trace. We ask for a crash report because that's the easiest way to get it for most of our users. If you can install -dbg packages and get a stack trace with gdb, that's useful as well.
Ubuntu has disabled the crash reporter because without also uploading debug symbols to Mozilla's symbol server, the crash reports are useless.
