Darn it! Took me a while to reproduce the problem. I run a 8800GT graphics card
with Nvidia drivers. Driver version 180.44. It seems that as soon as I change
my resolution or refresh rate and "apply", this happens.
I will now kill the terminal screen and restart it to see if it happens again.
(Currently it hanged on password expiry chatbox on xp.) I had to manually kill
rdesktop process. After about 3 mins and lots of app loading and screen
switching on remote desktop, no hangs. I'n going to change Nvidia X server
settings while logged in to see what happens. Changed Refresh rate from 60 to
auto on lcd. No Hangs. Changed the refresh from auto to 75. And it hanged in
less than 15 seconds. I'm going to keep playing around. Will post as I test.
