Members:

As of this post, the current version of MapServer is 5.4.

My questions relate to the comment of a members previous post

" MapServer 5.2.2 is supposed to be released soon. Once it's released, i'll
modify the debian package for
DebianGIS and make the ubuntuGIS one."

(1) I would like to know where to obtain the most recent, and most
complete MapServer packages for Ubuntu 9.04 Server on AMD64 ? I would
like to find a sources (repositories) which offer packages including all
MapServer dependencies (except Apache, PHP, Curl, and Pear) which are
already installed on my server.

(2) I am also seeking step-by-step installation and testing instructions
for MapServer and its dependent libraries and resources.

I am hoping to find packages which can use my fully-functioning Apache2
installation, rather than a package such as FGS, which includes its own
installations of Apache, PHP, supporting libraries, etc, and which I
(and some others) have not been able to install and get working ... in
particular, starting FGS Apache fails with errors.

The only bug I have to report is that "it bugs me that MapServer
installation packages and installation information are so scarce for
Linux".

Sincerely,
