Dan - that's wrong. Tracker was installed by default but disabled on
Intrepid. It was only ever enabled by default for a very short period
after being installed by default for the first time in the Hardy
development cycle.

Likewise, it is definately disabled by default on Jaunty (I should know
- I wrote the patch to do that for the Jaunty version). Those of you who
have never manually enabled tracker but are experiencing this issue are
hitting it because of another bug that occurs when you insert removable
media (bug 359207). But I can assure you that tracker is definately
disabled by default.
