Now I have googled for “r300 rs480” and discovered that both things seem to be related. RS480 is the name of the chip. What is R300? Is it not a chip name? What is it then? Is it true that RS480 somehow belongs to R300?
Since I have an RS480 and therefore seem to have something R300-related, I installed everything new from jaunty-proposed. However, this doesn’t include mesa 7.4-0ubuntu4 but only mesa 7.4-0ubuntu3.1.
