I'm having the same problem, on Kubuntu Edgy and stock FF2. I tried not using my FF profile, but it will randomly crash just as well.
This is not the only application showing this behaviour, but it is the one in with it is more frequent: Amarok, Konqueror, KWin and Kicker are others. As this is happening to me in more than one application I thought it could be a hardware problem.
