Enclosed are some debug and logs for last test run.

logs/Xorg.0.log is new X server running after getting login screen
logs/Xorg.0.log.old is X server running at time of operator getting login 
screen after attempting resolution change.  I am suspecting X crashed.  I have 
verified process id changed after login screen.

dmesg.out shows comp.real segment fault

X/nohup.out shows stracen of X server that was running prior to new login 
screen symptom.
compiz.real/nohup.out  ditto for compiz.real process
lshw.xml hardware config info from lshw
lspci.out from lspci. (info also in lshw.xml)
