(Isn't 8.10 Intrepid?) We don't know if these messages are important if we don't know why they are being generated. It could be that they indicate something more seriously wrong that I haven't stumbled upon yet. That could be pretty bad since this particular application is handling financial data.
Let's say the messages are harmless. This problem still should be fixed because it helps to resolve Bug #1. This sort of obvious sloppiness makes it harder to persuade people to switch to Ubuntu. GnuCash is a core application and (presumably) it gets widely used. It should make Ubuntu look professional, not sloppy. This is the sort of problem that would not get past a commercial QA department; that is, even if it doesn't have functional implications, it does hurt image of the application, something commercial organizations are very good at protecting. -- Strange Gnucash messages when starting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332248 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
