I'm 32 bit with the generic kernel. I don't remember exactly what my drives are, but I can tell you that they are both IDEs - One is a DVD writer, one's just a run-of-the-mill CD reader. Both are stocks from an HP Pavilion a730n (literally the only things I haven't replaced in that computer yet!). The DVD writer is in fact a Lite-on. Perhaps this is only affecting that type?
I installed Wubi on the Windows machine I'm using now using a livecd installer from when Intrepid first came out and the problem was there. I installed udev 124-9 and the problem immediately disappeared. One drive was a TDK DVD writer and the other an HP DVD writer. I'll be back at my box on Tuesday, ready to assist further if need be. -- CD-ROM tray closes automatically after eject https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283316 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
