The alt-f1 didn't do anything (at all), so i just took a couple pictures
with my digital camera of the largest pauses of it loading..

Everything goes fine before screenshot one (no visible errors).

1st one is while squashfs begins loading.
2nd is ubuntu starts "Loading hardware drivers", and briefly pauses at ath_pci,
which spits out some gibberish
3rd is about half a second after the 2nd, when the kernel panic occurs (caps
lock flashes indicating panic), and the computer spits out pages of randomness
instantly.

this is with the latest stable release of Ibex 8.10 x64 bit
the actual errors are different between each version of ubuntu, with ibex it
does not say "Kernel Panic--Killing Interupt handler..". I am also booting
without the options splash and quiet so the errors can be viewed.

from googling, i found out someone had a similar problem with this exact
same CQ50 110US laptop--http://forums.remote-
exploit.org/showthread.php?t=16887, except with bt3. (as i said before,
i can't run any linux based OS on this laptop, including BT3). He said
he used the ucpi=off option, which didn't do anything for me (i haven't
even heard of ucpi before).

snapshots are in .zip
thanks again for all the help
