Can anyone please recommend me a temporary fix or an option to add onto
the kernel when starting up?

Because of this, I cannot use any type of linux-based OS on my laptop--
only windows.

Random versions of the Ubuntu kernel work (about 1/6 of them), but then
on the next distribution upgrade, the kernel update frys my laptop.

I really need a temporary fix, because right now I'm unable to run
linux. Period.

Please help me because I don't really know what to do at this point
beside sell this laptop and buy a different model that is un-glitched.
