There's something strange here.. I'm running an even older version - 1.2.1, which is standard in Intrepid:
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) ~$ cat /etc/lsb-release DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.10 DISTRIB_CODENAME=intrepid DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 8.10" ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) ~$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log ... (II) Matched radeonhd from file name radeonhd.ids (II) Matched radeon from file name radeon.ids (==) Matched radeonhd for the autoconfigured driver (==) Assigned the driver to the xf86ConfigLayout (II) LoadModule: "radeonhd" (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//radeonhd_drv.so (II) Module radeonhd: vendor="AMD GPG" compiled for 1.5.0, module version = 1.2.1 Module class: X.Org Video Driver ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 4.1 ... And both the pop up and the actual modification of brightness work for me. -- cannot adjust backlight when using radeonhd https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
