Tormod, tried your most recent package xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd_1.2.3+git20081030.a36896dd-0ubuntu0tormod~hardy_amd64.deb and the problem is still there. Pop-up shows brightness values from 0-100%, but no change in light intensity.
