This bug still exists in Hardy. I cannot find the other bug report
mentioned by Sebastien so would be nice to have a tag to that report. I
agree with Kevin, why is this marked as incomplete? There is another
such report listed earlier but it is also marked incomplete.

I have not experienced any major problems from this bug but it is
disturbing.

My experience with this particular bug.

It seemingly happens randomly but at least a few times a week.

Upon navigating into a subfolder, the main view changes and shows the
contents of the subfolder, while the location bar does not reflect the
change in location but shows the parent folder only. When you navigate
back up, through any means, it returns two levels up.

example:

starting in -

/media/work

I click on a subfolder 'stuff'

the contents of 'stuff' are shown in the window but the location bar
still reads 'media/work'

I click the back arrow on the window and I am returned to

/media

instead of /media/work
