** Description changed:

  I downloaded Ubuntu 8.10, both 32bit and 64bit versions, and I burned
the ISO images on two separate CDs then I tried to boot into the demo
mode from these CDs. After about a minute of loading the OS, it ends up
with a black screen displaying some error messages, as described below:

  1. For the 32bit version:

  127.326577] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 1431296
127.326625] Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 178912

  2. For the 64bit version:

  126.765019] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 1431680
126.765867] Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 178970

My computer is HP Pavilion a1600n
  AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 3800+ 2 GHz
  1 GB RAM

- I tried burning the ISO images again, and when booting I get the exactly
- the same errors. I also got these errors with the beta version. The
- previous release of Ubuntu boots just fine though.
