I have seen this before as well, Upgrade from Gutsy -> Hardy causes grub to upgrade, bringing up a prompt concerning menu.lst. Most people chose the default "replace with package maintainer's version" and the old menu.lst gets wiped.
I am assigning this bug to grub in hopes that they will be able to package it with better scripts for partition/OS detection, and/or a way to keep a backup of menu.lst (for example menu.lst.bak.20081019) instead of just replacing the file when upgrading. ** Changed in: grub (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => grub Status: New => Confirmed -- Windows boot data wiped from grub after update https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
