Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html.
1) [possible bug] What - exactly- is the bug report you recieve at boot? When -exactly- during the boot process do you receive it? 2) [new user question] ubuntu-8.04.1-desktop-i386.iso is several months old. Notification of available updates after using that image is normal behavior. If the notifications bother you, you can turn them off. 3) [new user question] What filesystem is your Ubuntu installed on? (fat? ext3?) If you installed on a fat partition, take a look at bug 252900 for an explanation of your update error and how to fix it. Since there is insufficient information to determine the type of bug, if any, I'm marking this bug 'Incomplete' until more information on #1 is available. ** Changed in: ubuntu Assignee: John Marlo Grier, Cebu (john-grier-sr) => (unassigned) Status: New => Incomplete -- Bug reported when booting & updates do not complete https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275716 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
