This isn't an Ubuntu bug, but I'll continue to track the upstream ticket here since it does have a negative affect on UX.
Applications using legacy playbin elements will require workarounds until upstream provides guidance on proper handling. This behavior isn't observed in applications using playbin3, as metadata tags are handled within playbin3 itself. I've updated the upstream ticket to request further recommendations on how to avoid this in legacy applications. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to gstreamer1.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2091302 Title: "Missing Decoder meta/x-gst-fourcc-mebx" message when trying to play some videos Status in Gstreamer1.0: New Status in gstreamer1.0 package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: When trying to play some videos using Totem, the "Missing Decoder meta/x-gst-fourcc-mebx" message appears.
