Based on the log it looks like you have two accounts configured for Google, one for @gmail account and one for @canonical email. It shows the @gmail as being disabled and the @canonical as being enabled. If that was the case then I would have expected the contacts sync for the canonical account to work, but perhaps all of your contacts are only on your gmail account (that's how mine is). The log is showing the sync working but not showing any contacts being pulled so maybe you don't have any on canonical account?
