I'm now on r65. Bug was filed when I was on something much earlier.
Behaviour has changed, but it still doesn't sync.

Current behaviour is that app opens, I can add contacts, etc but no sign
of synced data. Account is configured to give access to contacts. I've
been told that sync may be slow, but there is no sign that it's syncing
at all (before I had some sort of in progress indication that never went
away). Is there a reliable way to force a sync? I have pressed the
update arrow in the upper right hand corner, it goes grey for a while
then returns to normal after a few seconds.

Title:
contacts from a google account fail to sync

Status in Sync monitor for Ubuntu Touch:
  New
Status in “address-book-app” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I have a google account set up, and contact sync enabled. Upon
opening the contacts app, a syncing progress wheel is displayed and it
never goes away. I have left it running for over 30 min before killing
it (no partial data or syncing apparent).
