Hi Tom, The intention is to have end user applications like Firefox connect to the proxy rather than Tor's SOCKS proxy; as such, I would like it to look pretty similar to Tor's SOCKS proxy from the end user point of view. Based on this, it seems to me that an implementation of the SOCKS protocol is necessary rather than a simple TCP proxy (unless I'm confused).
