The Palaganatham Kothanda Ramar Temple is an ancient templelocated in Palaganatham, Madurai District, Tamil Nadu, near the Krithumal River, atributary of the Vaigai River. Sanctum In the sanctum sanctorum, Lord Kothandarama is enshrinedalongside Sita, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya. SriRama Navami are the festivals in this temple. Beliefs In the southern part of the temple, there is a unique idol ofSerpent Vinayaka,known for alleviating the malefic effects of the serpent planets, Rahu andKetu. It is believed that offering a garland of Arugampul to him during the Rahu period can removeobstacles to marriage.
