What is “y”? “My y posting today is about this temple near Kuruppunthara in
the Kottayam District of the Kerala state.

When copying and pasting we must understand what is what. WHAT IS
PREPERUMAL ERA? WE ARE TALKING ABOUT KRISHNA. KRISHNA IS APERUMAL. PRE
PERUMAL-IS CHERA DYNASTY PERUMAL 800 AD.
Vaishnavas do not worship Vigneswaran and if so how Vaishnava Ganapathi?
Vaishnava Ganapati refers to Ganesha as worshipped by followers of
Vaishnavism, where Ganesha is revered as the Remover of Obstacles, ensuring
success in Vishnu's service and his avatars' missions, and often
represented by a unique figure called Vishwaksena in some traditions, who
serves as Vishnu's gatekeeper and commander. While Ganesha is universally
worshipped, Vaishnavas see him as a being blessed by Vishnu and crucial for
their spiritual path, sometimes replacing the traditional Ganesha idol with
Vishwaksena at the start of religious rituals.
Role of Ganesha in Vaishnavism
Remover of Obstacles for Vishnu's Devotees: Ganesha is respected for his
ability to remove obstacles, not just in general life, but specifically for
devotees of Vishnu and his avatars.
Blessed by Vishnu: Vaishnavas believe Ganesha is blessed by Vishnu and
holds a significant divine role within the Hindu pantheon.
Assisted Vishnu's Avatars: Stories exist where Ganesha aided Vishnu's
avatars, such as Rama and Krishna, in their divine tasks.
Vishwaksena, the Vaishnava Counterpart
Gatekeeper of Vishnu: In some conservative Sri Vaishnava temples,
particularly in Tamil Nadu, an idol of Vishwaksena replaces Ganesha at the
entrance, as he serves as the supreme commander of Lord Vishnu's forces.
Functionally Similar: Vishwaksena fulfills a similar role to Ganesha as the
obstacle remover and initial deity to be invoked before other rituals and
services to Vishnu.
Separate Entities: While they share functions, Ganesha and Vishwaksena are
considered different individuals, with Ganesha being the son of Shiva and
Parvati, and Vishwaksena being a manifestation or attendant of Vishnu.
Worship Practices
Initial Worship: Many Vaishnavas, especially in North India, begin their
prayers by worshipping Ganesha.
Temple Idols: Ganesha idols are commonly found at the entrance of many
Vaishnavite temples.
Invocation: Vaishnavas may invoke either Ganesha or Vishwaksena, depending
on the tradition and region, before proceeding with any religious
ceremonies.
IF SO, GANAPATHY CANNOT BE AMAIN DEITY UNDER VAISHNAVISM
PRINCIPLE; BUT KRISHNA IS SEATED ON THE LAP OG GANAPATHY AND MADE A MAIN
DEITY. THAT IS THE INTENT OF THE NAMBOODRI WHO WORSHIPPED GANAPAATHY AND
READ BHAGAVATHAM.
-------------------
Narain research archelogy, summarizes the lack of evidence about Ganesha's
history before the 5th century as follows:
“ What is inscrutable is the somewhat dramatic appearance of Gaṇeśa on
the historical scene. His antecedents are not clear. His wide acceptance
and popularity, which transcend sectarian and territorial limits, are
indeed amazing. On the one hand, there is the pious belief of the orthodox
devotees in Gaṇeśa's Vedic origins and in the Purāṇic explanations
contained in the confusing, but nonetheless interesting, mythology. On the
other hand, there are doubts about the existence of the idea and the icon
of this deity" before the fourth to fifth century A.D. ... [I]n my opinion,
indeed there is no convincing evidence [in ancient Brahmanic literature] of
the existence of this divinity prior to the fifth century.
The evidence for more ancient Ganesha, suggests Narain, may reside outside
Brahmanic or Sanskritic traditions, or outside geocultural boundaries of
India. Ganesha appears in China by the 6th century, states Brown, and his
artistic images in temple setting as "remover of obstacles" in South Asia
appear by about 400 CE. Hence Bheeja or otherwise Ganapathy is the base
root of the temple who is holding the Smd Bhagavatham is the symbol.
"Ashta" means eight, and "Dravya" refers to substances or offerings.
Purpose:
These eight ingredients are offered in the homam (sacred fire) to invoke
Lord Ganesha's blessings.
Typical ingredients:
While specific items may vary slightly by region or tradition, some common
examples include:
Coconut
Jaggery (molasses)
Honey
Sugarcane
Rice flakes (puffed rice)
Banana
Sesame seeds
Ghee (clarified butter)
Benefits:
Performing the Ashta Dravya Ganapathi Homam is believed to bring various
blessings, including:
Removal of obstacles and hurdles
Success in new ventures
Protection from negative energies
Fulfillment of desires
Overall prosperity and well-being
