2 SO WHY 9 PADAMS PER HOUSE AND 108 PADAMS IN ABIRTH CHART JADAGAM?

The number 108 is considered sacred in Hinduism due to its
association with cosmic structures, spiritual practices, and the divine. It
represents the wholeness of existence and is linked to various aspects of
Hindu cosmology and spirituality, such as the relationship between the sun,
earth, and moon, the number of Upanishads, deities' names, and sacred
sites.

3 Cosmic Connections:

Solar System:

The diameter of the sun is 108 times the diameter of the earth, and the
distance from the sun to the earth is also 108 times the diameter of the
sun.

Lunar Cycle:

The average distance from the earth to the moon is 108 times the diameter
of the moon.

Sun-Earth Distance

Sun's Diameter: Approximately 1,391,000 km

Average Distance from Earth to Sun: Approximately 149,600,000 km

Calculation: ~149,600,000 km / ~1,391,000 km = ~107.6

Moon-Earth Distance

Moon's Diameter: Approximately 3,474.8 km

Average Distance from Earth to Moon: Approximately 384,400 km

Calculation: ~384,400 km / ~3,474.8 km = ~110.6

Numbers are based on Nasa information.

Spiritual Practices: Mantras and Chanting: Chanting mantras 108 times
is a common practice, believed to deepen connection with the divine and
facilitate spiritual growth.

Meditation and Yoga: 108 is linked to specific styles of meditation and the
practice of 108 Sun Salutations.

Upanishads: There are 108 Upanishads, ancient Indian scriptures that
explore the nature of reality.

Deities' Names: Some deities, like Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, are
said to have 108 names.

Sacred Sites (Pithas): There are 108 sacred sites (Pithas)
across India, important for Shakti sect members.

Other Significance: Indian Astrology: The 12 houses and 9
planets in Indian astrology, when multiplied, equal 108.

Ayurveda: Ayurveda mentions 108 vital points in the human body.

Marmas and Shri Yantra: There are 108 intersecting energy
lines in the Marmas on the Shri Yantra, representing Shiva and Shakti.

Harshad Number: 108 is a Harshad number, divisible by the sum of its
digits (1+0+8=9). In Sanskrit, "Harshad" means "great joy".

Symbolism:

The cosmic dance of Lord Shiva, known as the Tandava, is said to have 108
postures.

4 It’s OK but why 108?

In numerology, the number 108 is reduced to the single digit 9 (1+0+8=9).
Nine is considered a powerful and auspicious number, symbolizing
completion, unity, and spiritual attainment. The repetition of the number 9
three times in 108 is believed to enhance its transformative and
harmonizing energies.

Also, the numbers 1, 2, and 3 are thought to be powerful. So in math, 1 to
the 1st power equals 1, and 2 to the 2nd power (or 2 x 2) equals 4, and 3
to the 3rd power (3 x 3 x 3) equals 27. Therefore, 1 x 4 x 27 = 108.

Even Leonardo Fibonacci, born around A.D. 1170 also posited a theory that
the number 108 has a way of representing the wholeness of existence. The
sacred River Ganga spans a longitude of 12 degrees (79° to 91°), and a
latitude of nine degrees (22° to 31°). Again, if you follow the math, 12
multiplied by nine equals 108.

Lastly, there are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. Each has masculine
and feminine, Shiva and Shakti. So, 54 multiplied by 2 is 108.

5 In yogic philosophy, the human body is said to have 108 energy
lines converging at the heart chakra. The activation and balance of these
energy lines are vital for physical and spiritual well-being. Meditating
with a mala is thought to harmonize and align these energy channels,
promoting a sense of inner balance and peace. One of the energy lines,
sushumna, leads to the crown chakra, and is believed to be the path to
self-realization.

The last representation of the number 108 is that one stands for
God/universal energy, zero stands for emptiness or completeness in
spiritual practice, and eight stands for infinity or eternity. This has
also been interpreted as one representing God (or your version of a higher
truth), zero representing you or pure awareness, and eight representing the
eternal unity of both.

6 Other Connections to Why The Number 108 is Special

*In Tibetan legends there are 108 Masters and 108 initiates.*

*108 saints are celebrated in Japan and are known as Vajradhatu.*

*In Buddhism the Buddha is said to have 108 names and there are 108 lamps
devoted to him. Most Buddhist temples usually have 108 steps and 108
columns.*

The division of the Christian holiday from Soul’s day, which is on November
2nd to Christmas Day on 25th December, has 54 days and 54 nights. The
significance being in the fact that within those 2 dates, light transforms
into darkness a total of 108 times and the reverse also occurs the same
number of times.

7 Sometimes when people ask me ‘why the number 108?’, I might just
simply explain that 108 represents, something, nothing, and everything.

The number 108 is a bridge between our material and spiritual experience,
weaving together different elements of Indian culture, philosophy, and
cosmology. From ancient scriptures to modern spiritual practices, its
presence resonates across time and tradition.

8 Lastly, 108 is a Harshad number. Such a number is an integer
divisible by the sum of its digits. In Sanskrit, harsa means “joy” and da
means “give”. Thus, Harshad translates to “joy giver.” No wonder the Cubs
experienced the joyous moment of winning the World Series for the first
time in 108 years! The angle formed by two adjacent lines in a pentagon
equals 108 degrees. There are said to be 108 earthly desires in mortals.
There are said to be 108 human delusions or forms of ignorance. The chakras
are the intersections of energy lines, and there are said to be a total of
108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. Some say there are
108 feelings, with 36 related to the past, 36 related to the present, and
36 related to the future. The sacred River Ganga spans a longitude of 12
degrees and a latitude of 9 degrees (12×9=108). One of them, sushumna nadi
leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to Self-realization. In
astrology, the metal silver is said to represent the moon. The atomic
weight of silver is 108u.

9 NOW 108 can be seen as a symbol of the interconnectedness of the
universe and the divine, and a representation of the wholeness of
existence. In Hinduism, the number 108 is believed to represent the
wholeness of existence. It is associated with various aspects of the
divine, such as: IN SANSKRIT 108 IS SPELT AS ASHTA-SATHA. The Sanskrit
alphabet has 54 letters, each with a masculine and feminine form called
shiva and shakti respectively, making a total of 108 letters. 108 is: an
abundant number. a semiperfect number. a tetranacci number. the hyper
factorial of 3 since it is of the form . The 1 of 108, and the 8 of 108,
when added together equals 9, which is the number of the numerical scale,
i.e. 1, 2, 3 … 10, etc., where 0 is not a number.

10 In Sanskrit written as १०८, almost 1 and 8 are reversed
letters. 1+0+8=9; 1 is shakti and 0 is Eswaran; 8 are important planets and
stars of the cosmos; hence 9 planets including the star SUN; and astrology
is framed within the Eswaran shakti cosmos bound by aspects of the life.
Thus 9 divisions of each Rasi in the birth chart comprising of 30 degrees
divided 9= 3 degrees and 20 minutes. THUS 108 IS NOT ONLY HERE BUT EVEN IN
THE GREEK AND WEST, BUDDISM, Jainism etc have greater significance
NATURALLY. STONEHENGE IS 108 FEET! Hence, jyodisha is marked with 9*12
parts of a chart with 108 padams and drawn with a navamsa chart, without
which RASI alone does not signify the future; where it is weak in Rasi, it
can be strong in navamsa and vice-versa.

11 The Navamsa chart also called the D9 chart, is one of the most
crucial divisional charts in Vedic astrology The word Navamsa translates to
“nine divisions” in Sanskrit, reflecting how each zodiac sign is divided
into nine parts. While your birth chart (Rasi chart) gives a broader view
of your life, the Navamsa chart offers a more detailed interpretation,
focusing on hidden potentials and spiritual evolution. The condition of the
Navamsa Lagna in the Navamsa chart is a strong indicator of fortune and
planetary strength. It significantly influences one’s luck and
capabilities, and it must not be debilitated in either the D1 (natal) chart
or the D9 chart for favorable outcomes. In Vedic astrology, the Navamsa
chart is indispensable for understanding the finer details of a person’s
life. It delves into the subtleties that the birth chart might not fully
reveal, such as the timing of significant life events like marriage and
career changes. Each of the nine sections in the Navamsa chart represents
different facets of life, from self-identity and relationships to
creativity and spiritual growth. Astrologers use the Navamsa chart to
assess the true potential and challenges of planetary placements. For
instance, a planet that appears weak in the birth chart might show its true
strength in the Navamsa chart, indicating areas where an individual can
excel or face challenges.

12 The Navamsa chart is calculated by dividing each zodiac sign
(which spans 30°) into nine equal parts, with each division being 3°20′.
These divisions create a total of 108 Navamsas across the 12 zodiac signs.
Each planet in the birth chart is then assigned a new position in the
Navamsa chart based on its exact degree within its sign. For instance, if
your Sun is positioned at 10 degrees in Aries in your birth chart, it will
be repositioned within one of the nine divisions of Aries in the Navamsa
chart. The positions of planets in the natal chart influence personal
traits and spiritual development, and this new position provides additional
insights that aren’t immediately visible in the birth chart. The Navamsa
chart serves as a refined analysis of your planetary placements, offering
insights into the strength of the planets, your marriage, and even karmic
lessons from past lives. Navamsa chart reading is essential for
understanding the true strength and potential of a horoscope. For example,
if Venus is weak in your birth chart but strong in the Navamsa chart, this
suggests that relationship issues early in life may improve over time.

13 Detailed House Significations in the Navamsa Chart

Each house in the Navamsa chart governs specific areas of life. Here’s a
brief explanation of the key houses:

1st House (Lagna): Represents the self, personality, and overall direction
of life. The condition of the lagna lord in the Navamsa chart is crucial,
as a strong and well-placed lagna lord significantly influences a person’s
fortune, marriage, and overall life path.

4th House: Relates to inner peace, comfort, and domestic happiness.

7th House: Represents marriage, partnerships, and spouse compatibility.

9th House: Indicates spiritual growth, dharma (life purpose), and wisdom.

Remedies for Challenging Navamsa Placements and Malefic Planets

If certain planets are poorly placed in the Navamsa chart, remedies can
help mitigate their negative effects. Analyzing the placement of malefic
planets in the Navamsa chart is crucial, as their influence can affect
one’s spiritual journey, financial progress, and personal relationships.
Common remedies in Vedic astrology include wearing specific gemstones,
reciting mantras, performing charitable acts, or conducting rituals to
strengthen weak planets. Deluxe Astrology offers personalized remedies
based on your Navamsa chart to help you overcome these challenges.

14 To construct a Navamsa chart from a Rasi chart, divide each of
the 12 zodiac signs (Rasi) in the Rasi chart into 9 equal divisions, each
representing a Navamsa. Each Navamsa is 3°20′ long, and there are 108
Navamsas in total (9 Navamsas * 12 signs).

Here's a step-by-step guide:

1. Understand the basics:

A Navamsa chart, also known as D9 chart, is a divisional chart that
provides a more detailed, microscopic analysis of the Rasi chart. It's
constructed by dividing each Rasi into 9 equal parts.

2. Identify the Navamsa:

Each Navamsa represents a specific portion of a Rasi sign. For instance,
the first Navamsa of Aries is 0°0′ to 3°20′, the second is 3°21′ to 6°40′,
and so on.

3. Determine Navamsa positions:

To find the Navamsa position of a planet in your Rasi chart, determine the
degree, minute, and second of the planet within its Rasi sign. Then, divide
the Rasi sign into 9 equal parts. The Navamsa sign of the planet will be
the one where the planet's degree falls within that division.

4. Construct the Navamsa chart:

Draw a Navamsa chart wheel with 12 houses, similar to the Rasi chart.

Place the planets in their respective Navamsa signs, based on their
positions within the Rasi chart.

Note the Navamsa Ascendant (Lagna) - the sign that starts the Navamsa chart.

15 The spiritual essence of a horoscope lies in its navamsa chart. The
sub-divisions of a planetary sign (the sign inhabited by a given planet)
have a direct collocation with various phases of his life which in turn has
a direct bearing on his spiritual character. Certain underlying principles
guide the interpretation of Navamsa. The nine fold divisions are guided by
different lords. The lords of first, fourth and seventh navamsa are of
divine significance. The lords of second, fifth and eighth denote spiritual
reputation and kindness; whereas the lords of third, sixth and ninth are
demonic in significance. 'Pushkaramasha' is the most auspicious element of
a navamsa. Each zodiac rashi or sign has two Pushkara navamsa. Thus with a
sum total of twelve rashis or signs, there are twenty four Pushkara
Navamshas. The peculiarity of this lies in the fact that they are owned by
beneficial planets. Consequently, such planets during their tenure ship
bestow on the concerned individual abundance of wealth, riches and
progress. This is particularly true of Jupiter. The concerned planet in
'pushkara' blesses the native with wealth and good prospects. The fifth
house of navamsha chart indicates the spiritual self of a person. One needs
to have a look at the placement of sun and its friendly planets to find out
to what extent the efforts of one's good will and action may bear fruits.
On the other hand, the rising ascendant or lagna, its lord and the third
house have direct connection with the elements of patience and endurance.
Similarly, the rising lord, the seventh house and its lord, Venus and its
friendly bodies have a direct bearing on ones better half. The third house
and is lords are associated with overseas settlement and disease. The
combined features of the third, seventh, ninth and the twelfth house
together with the respective placement of their lords signify overseas
travel. Likewise the 'lagna' its lord, the sixth lord and ketu are linked
with diseases whereas 'rahu' and its transit have a link with the
curability of diseases. The planet of the ascending sign and its lord
should not ideally occupy the sixth, eighth and twelfth places in a
navamsa. The given locations make for their afflictions leading to
anxieties and trouble during their tenure ship.

16 Navamsa predictions: Planets weakly positioned in natal
chart but heightened in navamsa are supposed to produce favorable results.
The reverse is also true. Planets or aspects denoted by those planets
should be equal in strength in both the natal and navamsa chart so as to
produce the desired result. Planets strengthened in navamsa chart are
supposed to be thrice more powerful than that in natal chart. A planet
occupying the same place in birth as well as that of the navamsha chart is
supposed to be very powerful. Thus prediction should always be made in
context of the navamsha, birth chart and that showing the transitory phases
of various planets. The chart is particularly helpful in spheres of
marriage, mental matching with one's spouse. It also helps to predict the
time of marriage and how delays can be overcome.

17 FOR THOSE WHO STILL FEEL DIFFICULTY OF UNDERSTANDING NAVAMSA
CHART AAND CREATION A SAMPLE IS GIVEN AS UNDER: Suppose you are born in
Masha Rasi (for that matter any Rasi right from Mesham to meenam; starting
from 0 to 3’20” as 1st padam, 3’20” to 6’40” as second, 90’0” to 93’20” 28th
patham of kataka rasi; 180’ 0” to 183’20” of tulam 55th padam; so do your
maths till meenam ending at 108 padam. ) {mesha Rasi has 21/4 stars 0f 9
padams of 3’20’ totaling 30 degrees only} 25’60” is the Rasi when you were
born. Now each planet in the Rasi degrees had to be calculated ONLY IN ONE
NAVAMSA CHART; THAT IS EACH SQUARE IS DIVIDED INTO 9 PARTS ; HENCE NAVA
AMSA. If 25’60’ is say sun in that chart of your birth; (sun in Rasi mesha
is exalted ; and now since it is in the 8th PADA of mesha rasi, in navamsa
SUN is to be fixed on the 8th house of navamsa; vrichikam in navamsa chart.
THUS THE EXALTED IN RASI GIVING THE KING LIFE IS GETTING INTO A WRONG PLACE
(MAY BE A RIGHT PLACE AALSO) WHICH IS 8TH HOUSE IN NAVAMSA, denotes,
INTEROSPECTION Leading to become a sanyasi AS AVAGABOND OR EVEN MAHA
PERIYAVA SUBJECTED TO OTHER CONDITIONS. Thus, what is bright in RASI might
be a reversal from navamsa and hence Jadagam must be analysed in depth with
both RASI AND NAVAMSA. Marriage match is not dasa porutham erroneous but
matching both jadagams for compatibility. Since 100% compatibility is
difficult the highest is matchmade. Hence navamsa is significant. Apart
from this, there are charts up to 64 divisions to see in depth each aspect.
Generally, Rasi and amsam will do; only in borderlines, higher charts are
necessary to refer to. AND THUS, EVERY PLACEMENT OF THE 9 PLANETS MUST BE
ASSIGNED BY ITS POSITIONAL DEGREES IN THE NAVAMSA CHART AND ANALYSE
INCLUDING THE LAGNA. Hence significance of 108 assumed the importance in
the configurations of 12 boxes and 9 planets chart in the astrology. K
