Hi Dirk, Linus, et. al. What are thoughts around allowing contributions to Subsurface to be counted towards this year's Hacktoberfest?
I have done this with other open source projects in past years, and found that this is normally quite good at motivating people to contribute during the month. The caveat is that this year there will be no more free tshirts or other physical goodies sent out to participants with a sufficient number of contributions during the month - we'll see what impact this will have. There might be the odd low value pull request coming out of it, but even 'low value' (like fixing a few typos in the documentation) is better than no value. The instructions for participation for maintainers are here: https://hacktoberfest.com/participation/#maintainers Basically we already tick almost all of the boxes, all we need is to add the 'hacktoberfest' topic to the repositories we want to allow participating pull requests for.
