Per our Posting Guidelines, do you happen to have any plugins installed?

I'm sorry! I obviously didn't read the posting guidelines:

PHP version 4.3.9
Apache 1.3.33
FreeBSD
Latest version of Squirrelmail
Vacation and Filters plugin installed (although this occurs w/o these plugs installed)
installed from FreeBSD ports (with exception to the Vacation SM plug)

Running Amavis-new, ClamAV, Postfix, Cyrus SASL, SpamAssassin, OpenSSL no PHP accelerators or anything like that

Here is my original post:

here's my deal.. I'm hoping somebody can help me, I'd be truly appreciative!

What is the best way to troubleshoot SM when it takes ultra-long periods of time (sometimes minutes) to login? It seems to happen sporadically, but more often than not these days.

Is there some sort of log or debug function which would illustrate where the login process is being hung up on? Any words of wisdom?

I'm using IMAP-UW (will be working on upgrading to Courier or Cyrus, although I'm leaning towards Courier - would love to hear your advice and opinions on this though), Postfix, amavis-new, and Cyrus SASL for SMTP auth (although I don't suppose this is related). I'm connecting over an SSL encrypted page, but the same problem seems to occur over the non-encrypted page too.

Right now, for a lack of a better plan, I'm working on upgrading IMAP-UW. My mailboxes are getting large, but can large mailboxes in one account affect performance within other accounts? This seems like somewhat of a long-shot. I'm sort of grasping at straws with no real way to troubleshoot this problem. Any ideas as to how I can figure out the culprit?

Many thanks in advance!!
