That's wacked. IMHO, you're better off fixing this now and centralizing all mail services rather than getting it cobbling something together now and trying to administer it in the future. What if your boss tells you they're ordering 30 more workstations? Ouch. I hear "that's the way it's always been" a lot at my job, my general response is "yes, but that's stupid". A few hours sweat fixing it one time means a lot less headaches in the future. Now that I've got that off my chest, let's deal with the issue at hand. > > Now, I want to setup one SM server so that all users can use the browser > to > point to my SM server. (also wanted to make sure, > that mail_fetch won't help in this case, is that right?) vmail is what you want. But you could also go ahead and setup one centralized IMAP server and use mail_fetch to grab POP3 mail off the workstations until you can fix SMTP and the user's other mail clients. > > I've been trying to configure the vlogin to work, and this is where I'd > like > some help. Any input I appreciate, thanks, Sounds like SM is trying to authenticate but with the wrong username. Does using the full email address as the username work? You probably want to just send the username, not the full address. Should be an option in there for that. Your best bet is to enable full logging one of the IMAP servers and see what Squirrelmail is trying to login as (or if it's even talking to the IMAP server you want it to). > > Koya -- Jay Lee Network / Systems Administrator Information Technology Dept.
