What will you fix if you don't know what the problem is?  src/compose.php
is what you should look at, but that probably won't help you unless you
look at the HTML being generated to see what the issue is.  Jonathan is
right, there was a bug where the <br> was getting torn apart... I forget
what the resolution to that was, but you could always read the mailing
list archives.
