4.2.2 is fine from the SquirrelMail perspective, in fact, it's one of the
least problematic php versions for us.  SquirrelMail installation is
fairly painless; just go for the tarball, unpack it, run the configuration
utility and you're good to go (assuming your IMAP server is already set
up, etc)
