well, i couldn't stay away from it. attached is a fixed version. i got
it to work on my end with and without "compose in new window". i noticed
that it is substantially slow on old systems (e.g., 200MHz Win98 IE5) when
encryption is turned on, so beware... people may want to turn it off as a
default.

does anyone think the encryption should be a user-configurable option?
what should the default be?

i will see if i can find a simpler encryption routine and perhaps offer
three options... "no encryption", "moderate encryption", "stronger
encryption"... we'll see about that.

PS - oops! i had previously noted that pressing "signature" and
"addresses" after typing part of a message would falsly try to recover,
but i also noticed that it does so when adding attachments. i will try to
address this ASAP. for now, pressing OK or Cancel will both work, there
is no harm either way.
