You don't need any plugins per se, although several will help your cause. The fact that you have things in MySQL isn't necessarily something that SM cares one way or the other about - because all SM does is talk to the IMAP server, the IMAP server is the one who worries about MySQL vs. local users, etc. Just point SM to the IMAP server and you should be able to log in right away.
