back with SuSE 7.0, Squid-2.4 was "-beta", while 2.3 was available as a stable..

I only wish they would have made that warning a lot clearer. There is many users who do not fully grasp that the fact that something is labelled beta means that it is not suitable production use or may in fact be very unreliable and possibly insecure.
