Eric, thanks for the update, I thought solr 4.0 should have the pseudo columns and i am using the right version. So did you ever worked on a query to return distance, where there is no long, lat are used in the where clause. I mean not in a radial search, but a city search, but displayed the distance. So my thought was to pass in the long and lat to the geodist and also the coordinates(long and lat) of every record, and let geodist compute the distance. Can you please let me know if this worked for you?
