Every time I connect to network using NetworkManager, 10s is spent on
checking if avahi may be run, which is majority of connecting time.
Control flow is as follows -> NetworkManager -> /sbin/resolvconf ->
/etc/resolvconf/update.d/libc -> /etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d/avahi-
While clickpad is correctly recognized in 13.10,
the AreaBottomEdge still does not work as expected - fingers outside the area
counts to numFingers

This is my current workaround patch, which seems to work fairly well:
sed -i 's/if init_is_upstart/if false \&\& init_is_upstart/ig'
/etc/init.d/networking
Simply changes all instances of "if init_is_upstart" to "if false &&
init_is_upstart".

More than a year later and no action.. Unbelievable.
I made the mistake of attempting to deploy Trusty for a new DNS server.
Spent about an hour attempting to migrate the old IP to the new box.
None of the workarounds were successful -- including the 13.10 scripts
the previously worked. Only rebo
I have apport already installed.
I issued the following command as root "apport-bug
/var/crash/_usr_sbin_smbd.0.crash"

Server admins have been restarting networking with init scripts for many
years, and for me personally it was rather disturbing to find this no
longer works -- as well as to read some of the comments here.
Networking that cannot be reliably restarted in the same manner it's
brought up at boot time i
iirc when i first installed lucid/lubuntu/wicd not long ago it was not
available via ubuntu repos, i installed via ppa. now lubuntu is
available via ubuntu repos. i confirm as of last week lubuntu-desktop
via ubuntu repos *requires* network-manager, and adding wicd does not
remove nm. i remove n
natty's nifty fast startup also bites the dust in btrfs. 5 minutes
instead of 15 seconds.

may be unusable...etc.
Retrying install is failing again this time due to space on /boot...will make
space and retry.
I am presuming that the install pointing to URL generated a message to

autoremove and Reran...failed...rebooted and system came up saying it is
running 20.04.3.

I believe the issue is related to how the rtl8192ce driver handles
wireless n. I haven't experienced the freezes on my home b/g router but
have them too frequently to practically use wifi on my school's n
network.
