isn't that the proxy is caching bad data. The problem is that stuff in

For example, if I have a file named "Ubuntu1", the first time I search
with "Ubuntu", I get it. But not the second time. I either have to type

Haven't seen too many new reports of the symptom. Perhaps this was fixed in
later upgrades. The workaround; removing usbmount using Synaptic, seems to
work when it does occur.

I revisited this issue recently, and discovered that I have to use the
nvidia-settings program to get dual screen going with the proprietary
display driver, since xrandr doesn't work. So, once I discovered that,
I simply configured my 2nd display as a "Separate X Screen" (in the
"Configure" popup)
Same problem for me using kernel 2.6.35.25.
I found that installing kernel 2.6.35.11 from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ solved the problem.
Strange because I thought the 2 kernels corresponded to one another, but either
way it worked.
