Public bug reported: I'm using the Unity 2D login option on my Lenovo T510 which is configured in the bios to use just the discrete NVidia graphics:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT218 [NVS 3100M] (rev a2) If I configure an external monitor (using nvidia-settings) and put it above or below my laptop's monitor, the panel at the top of the external monitor is missing. This causes issues with the menus for any programs on the external monitor (unless I disable unified menus) and causes problems for applications that are maximized (since they have no titlebar and no unmaximize button). I also note that if I put the external monitor above my laptop's screen, the laptop does is not treated as the main display, even though it is marked as such in the nvidia-settings (unlike normal unity, which places the main interface on the laptop even when the laptop is not the "highest" display). Note that this bug is not related to #842745, since that is talking about the launcher and monitors that are not aligned on the left. Though my monitors are of differing size, they are aligned on the left edge. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/884545 Title: unity 2D missing the menu panel with stacked monitors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/884545/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
