If I use jockey to deactivate and then edit xorg.conf to 'Driver
"radeon"' I get X trying to start several times with corrupt screen then
a blank screen and no response then I hard reboot. I think the fglrx
drivers are still installed though so will try removing them

so I would compile for Athlon64 to get optimisations at a guess?
compiling was way to easy compared to my past efforts. most should find
it a cinch given detailed instructions. I got some weird errors
installing the deb because I installed the kernel first then the headers
and then tried reinstalli

I tried used Alessio's PPA and Its more stable but I still only see one
cpu on my hp compaq v5001au laptop. anybody else got custom packages I
could try? I heard someone compiled a vanilla unpatched kernel with
preempt enabled or something and that worked. I don't have enough room
to compile kerne
I think there mite be a memory leak 'cause something takes up more and
more memory until it spills over into swap file and everything slows
down. this takes quite a while to happen but I use only the usual apps
and this doesn't happen with generic kernel. guess I should start a new
bug?

this is using hardy updated from gutsy and feisty. I recently changed
the graphics card from a gforce 7900gs to radeon 1600 pro pci-express
and before that I upgraded to a MA790X-DS4 motherboard, phenom 9550 CPU
from DFI lanparty NF4-ultra Socket 939 CPU. in both cases, before and
after the change
after I upgraded the motherboard jackd&ardour worked as expected for
while ...can't remember which update it was. sorry. but it is instantly
reproducible. I'll have a look in the xorg.log.

some new scripts to test suspend/resume. I nouveau is not capable of

Ok I can draw the nodes on the automation track but when I go back and
adjust those nodes, this doesn't happen straight away but after lot of
automation tuning, the nodes slip back to either the previous node or
