I have no idea what happened but I can't reproduce this any more.
I checked my apt logs and there is no sign that the docker.io package was
updated.
Maybe it was caused by some other bug in another package that was fixed
meanwhile.
Can anyone else who could reproduce this confirm that this isn't
Christopher M. Penalver, as I switched to gnome-shell meanwhile and I
had several Xorg crashes since then (see my bug reports) I'm not sure if
this happened to me again since then. Sorry for that.

The same problem found using Lenovo Z480 and Z580 (my is Z580A) with Ubuntu
12.04 and 12.10. See

To workaround they use an old version of kernel: kernel 3.2.0-29-generic.

have been upgraded. The boost libraries for intsance are versions
1.49.0, and libGLEW is 1.8.0

I tried to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. It installs and boots successfully. I
updated the system by Update manager and rebooted. After this second reboot
failed. The dark magenta boot screen appeared and nothing else.
