My advice would be to just download the latest source, find that

I guess I now have to apply this "ubuntu-gcc" patch to my code :
#if __LONG_MAX__ > 0xULL

Why is Ubuntu making people who want to use stdc++.h do this ?
Please restore standard STL usage patterns to your distribution .

What I don't understand is, why are you hiding away 'stdc++.h' under
include/bits ?
root@jvdsttpc:~# dpkg-query -L libstdc++6-4.6-dev | grep 'stdc\+\+\.h'
/usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/32/bits/stdc++.h
/usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/bits/stdc++.h
One is meant to be able to include
$ g++ --verbose -E t.cpp
Using built-in specs.
COLLECT_GCC=g++
COLLECT_LTO_WRAPPER=/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/lto-wrapper
Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
Configured with: ../src/configure -v --with-pkgversion='Ubuntu/Linaro
4.6.3-1ubuntu5' --with-bugurl=file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.6/README.Bugs
-
A temporary workaround :
As root, do :
$ ln -s bits/stdc++.h /usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/stdc++.h
$ ln -s bits/stdc++.h /usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/32/stdc++.h
tough luck if you don't have root privilege.
