the patch in comment #2 does not work on my system with 128 CPUs. I still got
the BUG: soft lockup, and eventually kill my ssh session.
I think the workaround is making the client (sender) wait for the main process
done with creating all the stressor's instances.

I got failed installations on a 256MB RAM Compaq Evo N600 laptop with
LiveCD, my CD checksum was fine, the prolem was my CD-ROM, it's too old
and it runs slwly, so I couldn't install other lightweight distros
also (and even Windows XP), then I had to install Lubuntu from Ubuntu
MinimalCD. Sure

I have found a solution, maybe the reason is mksquashfs uses all my 4
processors by default, so I add "-processors 1". It runs slower but at
least my computer is still awake :).

Thank you for your replyJonathan.
When I run "lxlauncher &" in terminal, I only get:
$ Loaded /etc/xdg/lxlauncher/settings.conf
and then nothing happens.
I downloaded the ISO torrent in Lubuntu wiki, I check it checksum, it's
ok"
$ md5sum lubuntu-11.04.iso
76e5865ce8d0d08fa9f833d781016fe
Ah, I forgot, there is another problem with my Lubuntu, lxshortcut
doesn't work also, nothing happens when I run it in terminal. I think I
should try to download a new ISO and make a test in virtualbox.

I've tried Lubuntu in LiveCD mode and lxlauncher and lxshortcut work. So
the problem is my machine, I've got a big collection of applications in
it, maybe there is something wrong somewhere, I have no idea.
