After further testing, I found that I get this error when trying to
compile anything (using either gcc 4.3 or 4.4). This appears to be a bug
in a system library.

Guess that's too late to get fixed for Karmic release.
Unfortunately there are many users (at least here) that need pppoe for
DSL connections.
It would be nice to have this fixed as update immediately after the
release but this means that they'll have to use pppoeconf anyway in
order to get the u

I have the same problem with Fedora 12 (updated, kernel
2.6.31.6-166.fc12.i686.PAE) on the hp compaq elitebook 2530p.
It seems to be working better after adding the parameter "nomodeset" at
the end of the kernel line in /boot/grub/grub.conf.
It also seems to have solved some small graphic issues

Shift-Delete is the default shortcut key for strikethrough. It works in
the main document but simply deletes text in notes. If I reassign

Today, I manage to download the latest Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 RC, and found
the following report:
1. When I try to write the ISO file, it is successfully complete. But,
when I try to restart and put the USB in my notebook, nothing happens.
It was not happened on Karmic Beta versi
I can confirm this. Ubuntu 9.10 fully updated from jaunty.
pppoeconf / pon works fine.
