I am having the same issue. It worked fine before I upgraded, now I am
running 10.10 and it doesn't work anymore.
I am generally trying to copy from gnome-terminal and paste into either
another terminal, or into a windows app via RDP. This all worked before
the upgrade.

Given that the original bug report was about an upgrade from 7.10, I
don't think the test case here is correct because it only tests upgrades
from the hardy to the hardy-proposed version, not from the gutsy to the
hardy-proposed version. Given that there are reports that the hardy
->hardy-proposed

As discussed, there has been no analysis of the regression potential, or
even of the exact packages that are supposed to benefit from this. In
order to keep Ubuntu 8.04.1 on track, which will not include this
