I take it it got in a bad state somehow and that was saved on shutdown

This happens to me too! I was able to fix it using solutions provided,
then it broke again when I started freevo (which uses xine to play

I find also that I can play ac3 videos and if I change my alsa device

listened briefly
dragged an mp3 onto xine
pressed next
the mp3 played
closed xine
now my spdif works fine
might be random but hopefully... a solution

I just tried and the disk array was in a good state. I think my problem
before was something else - I seem to remember that there is some place
that says what disk to use to write the ram out to - but I had re-
arranged my disks and only updated fstab - not this file. I think my

Essentially you do something like this
* Add the entry to the bottom of /etc/grub.d/40_custom
* Change (hd0,0) to be where your root is

I also had this problem with Abiword every time I clicked on a menu. I
used Synaptic to uninstall pulsaudio which also uninstalled ubuntu-

I just mean ALSA not the plugins and stuff to media players and stuff.
Then I rebooted.

I've found other posts that say to try dpkg-reconfigure mythweb, or
setting the hostname, but still not working. It looks like the script is
working right up until the Modules::getModule call in the headers. No
idea why.
