Turning them off prior to starting the movie works, but trying once the movie
is playing causes it to hang every time.

Unfortunately, I just spent $250 on an AMD card specifically because of

i are keep using 331 because nvidia-current has led to more problems than
just this, in fact it made the system essentially unusable. the
xorg-edgers drivers are no better... underscanning causes serious issues
with screen refreshes, edge scrolling, panel sizes, mouse

issues whatsoever. The issues I have with that driver did not appear until
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04. So are we supposed to hold Nvidia

If I close the screen on my laptop (Thinkpad W530) the system will freeze.
Nothing functions at all, including reisub.
However, the fn/space bar still turns the keyboard backlight on / off; that is
working perfectly.
The volume / must buttons still toggle the 'mute' led on/of

I'm removing ubuntu 14.04.2 64-bit from a Lenovo W530, and wanted to put
a few things on my phone (samsung galaxy s4, JB) before I wiped it...
and nothing will copy, it just repeatedly gives this error.
Ah well, I'm deleting ubuntu so I guess I really don't need a reply, but

Been doing it for about 4 weeks, not really sure exactly what caused it
to start.
Upstream kernel did not change anything, except for complaining about
the nvidia driver bug.

I did a fresh install of 14.04.1 in December, and have this issue as
well. I did not have any issue with Xubuntu 14.10.
I am still having other sound-related issues though; Ubuntu randomly
jumps from HDMI to Analog to No sound at each reboot, but I assumed the

No amount of keystrokes can unlock the screen - ctrl/alt/f1 does
