Having same problem here with suspend, just get black screen when I try to come
back to session, if I do crtl-alt-bksp or ctl-alt-delete I see a quick view of
desktop and then it goes into and endless error something like:

Oh by the way all this time and I have neglected to mention that this is
also a problem for my Intel laptop chipset which is the 4500MHD in an HP
dv5. So it's not just limited to nvidia/VirtualBox/ATI.

Just upgraded to 2.6.28-15 on my HP dv5 and lost sound on speakers, headphones
work but with diminished amplification. Doesn't matter if I use alsa, pulse,
oss.
Boot in with 2.6.27-11 sound is fine. Haven't tried other variants between the
two so can't say when they lost it.
Suggest staying with
Installed 2.6.28-15 on both desktops one an hp amd 64 w/nvidia and other with
pent4/ontel chipset and they both work fine.
Just seems to be problem in hp laptop which is Intel Core2 Duo/Intel chipset .

Well I hate to put my 2 cents worth in since there are plenty of complaints
already, but I too have the same annoying problem. And it's this type of things
that gives a great OS a bad rap for the average user. I know how to get to the
work a rounds but average Joe would just give up and go to
Chirs, your right, and there in lays the problem. But it's our own. I
made the choice tho run 9.04, knowing it would have some possible
problems. So I shouldn't snivel and I now recall that in the download
site it say 8.04 is "ideal for larger deployment", which many of us
means stable. My problem
