My computer is a hp laptop, dv9500, with intel dual core processor, and with an
nvidia 8400 gs graphical card . Everything was working properly until i made
the new kernel update.

Since the kernel was upgraded, it is impossible to boot with the nvidia
proprietary driver, on ubuntu Intrepid. The only way to make the computer work

So, i installed another time the nvidia driver, so that to make it bug
at reboot, in order to give you the xorg log with the bug in it .
Here are the xorg.conf file i have when the driver is installed, and the

Hi,
I wanted to add that the bug is solved since the last update. With the
2.6.27-14 kernel, everything is working properly, and nvidia drivers are
supported well .

I could check the source code for this package, and the bug is still
there, only showing "QEMU Virtual CPU" in
