Steps I performed.
1) Login to my desktop session
2) Run command "pgrep Xorg" to get the pid. Lets say 1122
3) Then I pressed "control-alt-f2" to go to virtual console.
4) Run command "pgrep Xorg" to get the pid and it was same i.e 1122
5) Run comm

I removed the printer from the computer.
Re-installed Ubuntu using: Erase Ubuntu 11.10 and reinstall. (Warning: This
will delete all your Ubuntu programs, documents, photos, music, and any other
files). It obviously did not.
Restarted computer, and the above message appeared

While searching the Internet I discovered and installed startup manager,
this enabled me to dual boot from Windows 7. I was then able to do a
clean install of Windows 7. Never again will I attempt to run a dual
boot system.
