of making a fresh install of it. The default apps to open certain files
have gone all crewy. So, folders were opening with f-spot instead of
nautilus, and PyPar2 was opening all sorts of things. Well, my system

It seems like a bug to me, and no, the installation passwords do not
work. None of the user or admin passwords work. When trying to add my
Gmail calendar to evolution's calendar, Evolution asks for my Gmail
account's password; I give it the correct password, and then a second

Yes, if you are browsing the RSS feeds (like the usual BBC toolbar feed
in FF) the screensaver never comes on. Mind you, you have to actually be
browsing them; the list of live feeds must be dropped down. Just mousing
over the RSS button isn't enough, in case anyone thought that maybe that
was a po

down feeds to have this problem. All you need is for the feed list to be
down, period.

I'm having similar problems. Evince prints frame borders, but none of
the text inside of them. Meanwhile, on the same comp, same system, same
printer, acroread prints just fine. The truly odd thing is that "Print
Preview" - which produces some variation on "evince_print.ps.BLAHBLAH" -

I tried a fresh install on a new master HD, a 1.5 TB SATA. I got 90+% of
the way through the install and then came a pop-up:

I probably should have clarified that when I select "File >> Print... >>
Printer Options >> Contents >> Print black" the black text is not, in
fact, being printed with the black ink cartridge, but with the tri-
color, and as this cartridge slowly runs out, my "black" slowly turns

resolution (I couldn't set the resolution to 1240x1024), and fixed it
with EnvyNG (QT).
For reasons I don't want to get into, I reinstalled Ubuntu Hardy, had
the same graphics problem, couldn't fix it with anything, including
EnvyN

Interestingly, evince will print frame borders in a document, but not

I'm not sure if my issue is the same, but if i log out of the only
active account, I get a black screen, with evidently no way to get back
to X. Soft reboot is not possible, so far as I can tell. If I have two
accounts open and log out of one, I get the login screen, as I imagine I
should.

As per one suggestion in Bug #270303, I deleted the "localstore.rdf"
files in my .mozilla/firefox/blahblahblahdefault folders in order to fix
the problem described in that report. It worked, but ever since then I
am unable to "X" out of Firefox. T
acroread 9 is having the same problem, at least for me:
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/acroread_9.1.0-7intrepid1_i386.deb: trying to
overwrite `/usr/share/man/man1/acroread.1.gz', which is also in package

Just tried the above suggestion... no luck. Update Manager still wants
to upgrade acroread, which I try, then getting the same error:

Update Manager claims that it has an upgrade for acroread. I run
"Install Updates" and then get the following error:

My home office send me PDF lists generated by FileMaker Pro 10.0v1. I
have never been able to print these correctly with Document Viewer,
although I at least used to be able to see the text on screen, and now
cannot. I will attach an exemplary PDF,
